How is your business set up?
If you have your own company which is contributing super on your behalf, you could qualify as an employer-sponsored member of TWUSUPER and be eligible to automatically receive basic insurance cover when you join.

If you are self-employed as a sole trader, eg through a partnership or trust arrangement, joining TransPersonal could mean you are eligible to claim a 100% tax deduction on the personal super contributions you make to TransPersonal.
Contributions within the annual concessional contributions cap ($25,000 for the 2011/12 financial year if you are under age 50) will be taxed at the concessional rate of 15% (if you have provided your Tax File Number to the Fund).
Insurance cover through TransPersonal is not provided automatically, but you do have the option to apply for low cost voluntary insurance cover if you wish.
