At TWUSUPER we aim to help promote physical and emotional wellness both inside and outside the workplace. Healthy communities mean healthy individuals.
Staying resilient in tough times
COVID-19 has brought financial and emotional unpredictability to many of us.
If you need support, or know someone who might need help, TWUSUPER has partnered with TAL and Assure Programs to bring you resources to help with:
- Staying resilient
- Recognising the signs of self-harm
Promoting workplace wellness
Since inception in 1984 as the Industry Super Fund for the people who keep Australia moving, TWUSUPER has worked with various organisations to help maintain the physical and mental health of people in transport.
SuperFriend helps employers and members build safe, mentally healthy organisations where all workers can thrive. Our partnership with SuperFriend provides:
- Workplace wellbeing programs and training
- Online information for employees to support their mental health
- Webinars providing workplace wellbeing advice for organisations
- Resources to help employees support the mental wellbeing of their colleagues
- Extra resources for the effects of COVID-19
R U OK Day
TWUSUPER also participates in R U OK day each September, and we encourage others to do the same. In 2020, R U OK day falls on Thursday 10 September.
Helping match members with jobs in transport
COVID-19 has affected every industry in Australia - including transport. At this time, we're working with our employer and industry partners to let you know when they're hiring.
Helping train the people who keep Australia moving
To support the people who keep Australia moving, TWUSUPER supports various training programs. In 2019/20, more than 1,500 people are expected to undertake training through the Victorian Transport Association (VTA) in:
- Industrial Waste
- Chain of Responsibility
- Management Training, and
- The Driver Delivery Program, in conjunction with Armstrong Training and VicRoads, provides new-entrant drivers with the exposure to the driving environment they will encounter as a professional driver.
Supporting women in transport
Although the industry traditionally has more male than female workers, women have always played an important role both behind the wheel and in other roles.
TWUSUPER supports the work of Australian transport associations which are working to promote the work of women in transport - including the Victorian Transport Association (VTA) and Transport Women Australia.
As well as being the major sponsor of the VTA's Women in Transport lunch, we also support Transport Women Australia's biannual conference.
Joining in the Mothers' Day Classic
The Mothers' Day Classic walk and fun run was developed by Women in Super to deliver a fun, healthy and inspirational event that brings communities all across Australia together on Mother’s Day to support and remember those touched by breast cancer. TWUSUPER encourages its employees and their families to participate in this event.2020 Mother's Day Classic under social distancing
