Advice services
So you need to talk about your super. What next?
Life is busy, and our members need quick and clear answers so they can plan for the future. We're here to make it easy to understand your super and retirement options. This could include anything from discussing your investment, contribution and insurance options to setting up a Retirement Super Pension account.
We understand that, for many, retirement is a frightening prospect. We’re here to help show practical things you can do to make a real difference in the future.
It's never too early or too late to get help
Our team is here to give you the type of advice you need when you need it, whatever stage you’re at in your working and personal life.
Advice in super and what it covers
We can offer members general or personal advice on:
- Investment choices
- Contributions
- Insurance
- Beneficiary nominations
- Pre-retirement pensions
- Retirement pensions
- Withdrawals
Rollovers and consolidation
Advice on rollovers and consolidation can be provided by the General Advice team - see Find and consolidate super for your next steps.
Retirement Health Check Projections
Due to the personalised nature of reviewing how you are tracking for retirement, a Retirement Health Check Projection for tailored to your circumstances can only be provided by the Personal Advice team.
General advice v personal advice
The difference between the general advice and personal advice reflects whether your personal circumstances are considered when advice is given. There may be times when general advice is adequate for your needs, and times when you choose to get guidance about what to do when your personal situation is taken into account.
When a quick clarification is all you need
The General Advice team can discuss general options and provide general advice without taking your situation or objectives into account. For example, they can answer questions and advise what we generally recommend to members in relation to super contributions. However, they won't be able to take your personal situation or objectives into account or advise what super contributions you should make (as that would be personal advice).
General advice - more information
When you need a more personalised approach
Sometimes, you will need more than general advice - this is where our Financial Advisers* can step in to provide tailored advice about your TWUSUPER account that is based on your unique personal situation and objectives. With this information, the Personal Advice team can prepare specific recommendations to help you achieve your goals.
Although this service is available for members only, if you have a non-member spouse our advisers will be more than happy to include them in your meetings and decision-making process.
