A pension account with us can keep you moving

TWUSUPER Super Pension

When it’s time to retire, you want to make sure your hard-earned super is in good hands. That’s why thousands of members entrust their superannuation pension to an Industry Super Fund like TWUSUPER.

Our investment team works hard to secure strong investment returns for members while they’re earning and when they retire.

We make it easy

TWUSUPER makes it easy to open a super pension account and move your balance over from your TWUSUPER superannuation to a Super Pension account.

In fact, you don’t even need to have a TWUSUPER superannuation account to become a pension member – we can accept super balances from almost all other super funds. If you choose to open a pension account with us, you can rest assured that TWUSUPER is run only for members.

When you open your Super Pension account, you can choose how your super is invested (using our investment options that you can mix and match), nominate your beneficiaries, and decide when and how much you want to receive each year – as long as it meets the total minimum pension payment amount set by the government. Payment frequencies can be fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annually.

Your questions about Super Pension payments

What are the minimum pension payments?

Each year you must withdraw a minimum amount from your super. The rate – known as the drawdown rate – is set by the Australian Government and is based on your age at 1 July each year.

You can find a list of drawdown rates on our Working out your pension payments page.

How much can I have in super and still get the Age Pension?

You could have hundreds of thousands in super and still be eligible for the Age Pension. Eligibility can be confusing, which is why it’s best to have a chat to one of our retirement specialists who can work through the details with you.
